Training Program

Head Instructor Mike Groppuso - KHS Head Coach
This is an 8-week training program for ages 9-17 that emphasizes all fundamentals of the game: Hitting, Fielding, Throwing, Base Running, Proper Arm care and more. Our Instructors will provide many different drills and approaches to help increase their skill development. Sessions are 1hr 30min each with an Instructor/Player ratio of no more than 6 to 1 to allow for more reps and a better understanding of the game. These drills and approach have helped guide the Kingston Varsity baseball program to 8 Sectional Championships (07, ‘09’, ‘11, ‘12, ‘16, ‘17, ‘18, ‘19) 3 NYS Final Fours (‘11, ‘12, ‘17) and a State Championship (2012) in the last 17 years. If your son loves the game of baseball and is looking to improve this clinic is a perfect fit.

**All stated workout sessions are 1x/week and will assume 15 maximum participants. Schedules will be adjusted once the registration period has closed. COVID-19 protocols will be in place and we ask all non-vaccinated participants wear a mask. Further details will be provided upon completion of registration.

Head Instructor Steve Freer, Head Modified Baseball Coach – Kingston
6 Week Program
Former SUNY UCCC Head Coach and Saugerties Stallion Pitching Coach. Coach Freer attended and pitched at St. Johns University. Coach Freer will introduce and implement proper skill work that will improve player’s mechanics, velocity & mental approach. Strong emphasizes is also put on proper warm-up & arm care in order to help young players throughout the season.

This clinic will help all players better understand the importance of practicing with a purpose in positive and fun atmosphere while incorporating simple age appropriate & skill level drills that will increase their ability and understanding of the game.
